This shrine is small; my intent being to create something accessible and more streamlined and simple in design. Its size enables it to be tucked in a variety of locations. Ganesh is a gentle giant, Hindu god of music, writing, bringer of prosperity, and remover of obstacles. The star tile image behind the statue is from a photo essay project inviting people from around the world to photograph their feet on a beautiful tile floor. Each image in the essay is a different square of tile with the photographer’s two feet centered at the bottom, using their phone to look down at where they stand and snap a picture.
