Pavarti | Aphrodite | Venus (SOLD)
Pavarti is the goddess of love and devotion, fertility, and abundance. She is also the ferocious Kali when called upon to destroy evil. Like the Roman Venus, she is often depicted near a calf or cow (abundance-source of food), and depicted as golden or yellow skin, representing ripened harvest. She is also considered the goddess of love, like the Greek Aphrodite. I have used a scallop to reference Aphrodite, and a seed pod to indicate their importance in matters of abundance and fertility. The gold sigil is associated with Venus. The round, beaded phul in the background is a mirrored, hand-beaded protection amulet. Traditionally stitched to clothing as emblems of good fortune and beauty, the Pashtun people of Afghanistan have used these to symbolize the life giving energy of the sun as far back as 400 B.C.
